My wife and I were what can only be described as messed around by the offshore lenders, including ones that have a ‘High Street’ presence in the UK. We turned to Expat Mortgages at Meridian and Michael found us a UK Building Society lender that provided a clear application process and a competitive rate. I expected Michael’s role to be over once the mortgage was approved the paper work was signed – but just a couple of days before our property transaction was due for completion, Michael found that the lender had lowered their fixed rate, and was able to get us on this lower rate for the five year fixed period which will save us a considerable sum over this period.
